The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Ikeja Branch, is basking in the glory of professional excellence, as 20 of its members were inducted into the prestigious Fellowship of the Society. This elevation, the highest and most enviable recognition in the engineering profession, marks a milestone for the branch which has seen more of its members take up higher responsibilities. .
For a professional engineer, achieving the Fellowship is the pinnacle of a career marked by consistent contribution, technical brilliance, and ethical leadership.
In the world of engineering, the FNSE designation signifies that the recipient has not only achieved technical expertise but has also dedicated years to advancing the profession, mentoring younger engineers, and contributing substantially to national development through their innovative work and leadership. It is a rigorous process that acknowledges the engineer’s ability to influence policy, drive innovation, and command respect within the industry.

Their induction highlights the vibrant professional culture thriving within the Branch. The Branch Chairman, Engr. Nimot Muili, MNSE, FNSE, PMP, under whose leadership this impressive feat has been achieved, warmly congratulated the new Fellows, recognizing their hard work and dedication.
However, she emphasized that the new status comes with a greater mandate for service.
“To our newly decorated Fellows, congratulations! The Fellowship is not a resting place; it is a higher ground for greater service,” said Engr. Muili. “You are now tasked with upholding the standards of our profession, guiding the next generation, and providing sustainable solutions to national challenges.”
She reinforced this challenge by recalling the words of the great scientist Sir Isaac Newton, who once said, “If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of Giants.”
“You are now those Giants,” Engr. Muili concluded, “and you are commanded to offer your shoulders for the younger ones to stand upon. Let your continued excellence build an even more viable engineering culture for Nigeria.
