The Nigerian Society of Engineers, Abeokuta Branch, has commended the President of the Society, Engr. Ali Rabiu, FNSE, F.ASCE, FAEng, MFR, for his leadership and commitment to advancing the engineering profession in Nigeria.
The Branch leadership gave the commendation during a courtesy visit to the President at the NSE National Secretariat in Abuja.
Speaking during the visit, the Chairman of the NSE Abeokuta Branch, who also chairs the Forum of NSE Branch Chairmen, Engr. Olumayowa Ayodeji Idowu, FNSE, described President Rabiu’s administration as purposeful and inclusive. He said the President’s agenda, tagged “Resetting the NSE for Relevance, Resilience, and National Impact,” has continued to reposition the Society for greater effectiveness.
According to Engr. Idowu, the agenda has strengthened institutional capacity, enhanced professional development, promoted innovation and inspired renewed confidence among members, while positioning the Society to make a greater contribution to national development.
He also conveyed the appreciation of the Abeokuta Branch for what he described as remarkable achievements recorded under the current administration, particularly in promoting engineering excellence and fostering stronger collaboration across the Society.
Engr. Idowu reaffirmed the Branch’s commitment to supporting the President’s vision and programmes, adding that sustained synergy between the national leadership and branches remains vital to achieving the Society’s objectives.
Responding, Engr. Rabiu thanked the leadership and members of the Abeokuta Branch for the visit and for the confidence they had shown in his administration. He commended the Branch for its innovative programmes and its contributions to the growth of the Society, and urged members to remain committed to professionalism, unity and service.
The visit ended with both sides pledging continued collaboration between the national leadership and the Abeokuta Branch in advancing the vision and objectives of the Nigerian Society of Engineers.
