Civil Engineering Summit: NICESA South West Visits Ogun Deputy Governor Noimot Oyedele-Salako

Yesterday, September 12th 2019, the leadership of the Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers, Students Affiliates,  NICESA Southwest region paid a courtesy visit on behalf of the Civil engineering students in the southwest region of Nigeria to the Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Engr Mrs Noimot Oyedele-Salako.

The purpose of the visit was to affirm the interest and support of Her excellency as the Keynote Speaker for the forthcoming Civil Engineering Innovation Technology Summit, CEITSummit to hold October and also to congratulate her on her recent achievement and to facilitate her 1st 100 days in office.

The visit was also an opportunity to commend the Prince Dapo Abiodun government for her tremendous efforts since assumption of office especially in the innovation and technology policy. Some of which are the Ogun governors challenge, Ogun State Tech and Innovation Hub, anchor borrowers scheme and lots more.

Engr Noimot, who herself is also a civil engineer, commended the efforts of the Southwest Civil engineering students as been creative and thinking out of the box.

The NICESA representatives include; the Southwest Coordinator Nasir Sheriff (OAU), the Deputy SW coordinator and the Chairman of the CEITSummit organizing committee Ahmed Ayinla (MAPOLY), member of CEITSummit technical committee Olaitan Olurombi (YCT), member of CEITSummit welfare committee Olamide Amiola (MAPOLY) and the Unilag NICESA President Omogbai Emmanuel.

The Civil Engineering Innovation Technology Summit, aims at exposing Civil Engineering Students in the South-West region of Nigeria and beyond to the various innovations and technologies in engineering. The Summit is a platform to showcase innovations and technologies in built environment.

This edition of CEITSummit is themed “Building your Smartcity” and is going to host the Smartcity competition. The Smartcity competition is an inter-school competition among Civil engineering accredited schools (Universities and Polytechnics) in the South-West region of Nigeria.
