On the 2nd of November, Ijaodola Jamiu having represented Faculty of Engineering, Lagos State University for three (3) years in Lagos State University Students Union Parliamentary Council, Mr Jamiu Iajodokua of Mechanical engineering department LASU has been awarded the Most Influential Parliamentarian amongst other Parliamentarians from 11 Faculties in Lagos State University.
Ijaodola Jamiu is a 400L Student of Mechanical Engineering where he currently serves as the Speaker of Engineering Students Parliamentary Council-LASU Chapter.
While serving as the speaker, he conceived and organised the first ever Leadership Conference for Engineering students in Lagos. The conference attracted prominent Legislators from Lagos State House of Assembly including Hon. Olusegun Olulade representing Epe Constituency 2 and Hon. Noheem Adams representing Eti-Osa Constituency 1 among others.
Earlier in the year, driven by desire to bring innovators to the university, Ijaodola Jamiu convened the First LASU Engineering Summit in Nigeria for Engineering Students. The event as a huge success and attracted various engineering leaders and captains of industry as well as other universities representatives.
So positive and impactful was the event that the Vice Chancellor of the university personally commended the initiative and team behind it. Currently Plans are on top gear for the 2nd edition of the summit which will hold early next year.
Ijaodola continues to bring innovative ideas in the service of engineering such that one would nearly forget he is still a student. MyEngineer, having followed his many activities and passion on and off campus is without reservation marking him out as one of the young budding engineering leaders to be look out for.
