The Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) has unveiled its list of successful candidates for the October 2025 registration cycle. This is a significant expansion of the nation’s certified technical and professional workforce.
The latest release reveals a strong concentration in the highest professional tier and a visible expansion into highly specialized and emerging engineering disciplines.
The overwhelming majority of new approvals are individual professionals. This signifies increasing human capital base of the engineering sector available for National development.
The Engineer category, the highest professional qualification, remains the dominant force, welcoming 1,569 new certified professionals. Engineering Technologists and Engineering Craftsmen added 291 and 278 respectively. while Engineering Technicians for October have 4 and Expatriates recorded 2.
Corporate Sector Growth
On the corporate front, COREN accredited 102 new engineering enterprises, comprising 70 Engineering Firms and 32 Engineering Consulting Firms. These firms are essential for translating technical skills into industrial projects and services.
Mandatory Steps After Council Approval
For all newly approved candidates, the final phase of registration is to formalize their status and obtain their license to practice. Successful practitioners must follow these mandatory steps:
- Payment of Fees: Candidates must settle all remaining statutory fees. This includes the final registration fee and the crucial Annual Practicing Fee, which must be renewed yearly to maintain legal practice status. Registered Engineers must also pay for their unique Official Seal and Stamp.
- Collection of Practice Documents: practitioners will receive their legal documents: the Certificate of Registration and the Annual Practicing License. Engineers will also receive their Official Seal and Stamp, which is legally required to authenticate all professional engineering drawings and reports.
The title of a registered professional comes with the continuous obligation to engage in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) to ensure their skills remain current and relevant throughout their careers.

I am sorry about that. That is October. You can write to them to see what happened to your name. There are people who may not be included for one reason or the other. But you can still make it. Maybe in next batch. But before then, please get in touch with COREN to know status of your application.
