If your proposer(s) haven’t received an email or SMS for confirmation, please instruct them to log in to their Membership Portal to confirm your request. Not receiving an email or SMS is not a valid reason for non-confirmation.

General Application Instructions (New Applicants)
Before you begin your application, please note the following:

Upload only your original credentials. If you have a statement of results without a certificate, you must request your school to forward your transcripts to:
The Executive Secretary
The Nigerian Society of Engineers
National Headquarters,
Labour House Road, Central Business District,
Abuja.

Access the application portal by clicking this link. Click the “Next” button.

Ensure the “New Applicant” option is ticked in the upper left corner.

Carefully choose your membership category from the list. Once payment is made, changing your category is not permitted. Refer to the requirements for each category here to determine the best fit for you.

Select your “Target Diet” from the available options. Your application will be processed for the diet you choose. The most recent diet is the active one.

Fill in all other details accurately. Use a personal and valid email address and phone number, as all application updates will be sent to these contacts. Each applicant must use a unique email address and phone number.

Click “Next,” confirm your details are correct, then click “Pay and Submit.”

Payment Options
You have two primary payment options:

Interswitch (Verve & Master Card): This option redirects you to the Interswitch payment gateway. Select your card type, enter your details, and upon successful payment, you will be redirected back to the portal to print your receipt. An instant email and SMS will also be sent to your registered contacts.

Remita (Master Card, Visa Card, Bank & Internet Banking): This option takes you to the Remita payment page and generates an RRR (Remita Retrieval Reference). You can use this RRR to pay via various methods: Master/Visa Card, direct bank deposit at any Nigerian bank, or through internet banking/mobile apps. Upon successful payment, you will receive instant SMS and email notifications.

Important: Do not use the “Payment outside the Portal” option unless an administrator confirms it’s necessary.

Completing Your Application After Payment
After successful payment, click the login link and log in using your registered email address and password. Select “Registered Applicant” as the Login Type.

Once logged in, click on the “Application” menu on the left, then the “Profile” tab to load the details you need to submit.

Upload your passport photograph. Ensure it’s a proper passport photo clearly showing your face.

Basic Details: Fill in all your correct basic information.

Professional Details: Provide accurate professional details and choose your MCPE/CoPPPE Center.

Proposer:

Ensure your proposer is someone you know well, has complete and active data on the NSE Membership portal, is financially active, and is ready to confirm you online.

Proposer confirmation is now done online.

Changing or correcting proposer details is not allowed once saved.

Your application cannot be submitted until your proposer confirms it.

When you enter the proposer’s number, their name will display. Verify that it matches the person confirming you.

Double-check your proposer’s details before clicking “Save.” Once saved, your proposer will receive an SMS and email for confirmation, and you won’t be able to change them.

Work Details: Add your current work information.

Education Details:

Upload only relevant engineering qualifications.

B1 Candidates: Only your first degree in Engineering is required.

B2 Candidates: Only your HND and PGD, or PGD and MSc/M.Eng are required.

C1 Candidates: Only your relevant engineering qualification is required.

A1, A2, C2, D4, and Associate Applicants: Those with a Bachelor of Engineering do not need to add/upload other credentials. HND holders should add/upload HND and PGD details or PGD and M.Sc/M.Eng details.

Documents: Upload all necessary documents. Files must be in JPEG or PNG format and not exceed 500kb in size.

After filling all details, click the “Preview” menu on the left to review your application and ensure everything is in order.

You can only submit your application once it is 100% complete.

Once complete, click the “Submit” button. Your application will not be reviewed by NSE staff until you click submit.

You will receive SMS and email notifications as your application is processed. You can also check the treatment log on the portal for status updates.

Guidelines for Failed/Resit Candidates from Previous Diets
If you failed or have a resit paper from a previous diet, follow these instructions carefully to make payment and register for the current diet:

Access the application portal by clicking this link. Click the “Next” button.

Ensure the “Failed/Refer Applicant” option is ticked in the upper right corner.

Enter your exam number from the last diet in the format 12345 or S1801234 (do not use formats like 12345_161). This will load your name and applied category.

If your name doesn’t load or is incorrect, send an email to [email protected] to report the issue.

Confirm your details are correct, then enter your email address and choose your password.

Fill in all other details accurately. Use a personal and valid email address and phone number for updates. Each applicant must use a unique email address and phone number.

Click “Next,” confirm your details are correct, then click “Pay and Submit.”

Follow the Payment Options as described above (Interswitch or Remita).

After successful payment, click the login link and log in using your registered email address and password. Select “Registered Applicant” as the Login Type.

Once logged in, click on the “Application” menu on the left, then the “Profile” tab to update any pending records. If there are no pending records, click “Submit.”

Your proposer does not need to take any action for confirmation, as you were already confirmed in the previous diet. Please inform your proposer of this.

Special Instructions for Student and Graduate Category Applicants (Previously Uncompleted Applications)
If you started an application and made payment on the former portal but could not complete it, follow these steps:

Register afresh on the new portal.

At the point of payment, choose the “Payment Outside the Portal Option.”

Select any ECO BANK as the bank paid into.

Enter your name as the “Payee’s Name.”

Enter the last four digits of the card you used for payment as the teller/reference number, along with the date of payment and the amount paid.

Click “Submit” to save your record. Wait for the administrator to confirm your payment; once confirmed, you will be able to access the form to fill in your details and upload your documents.

For further clarification, send an email to [email protected].
