Invitation to Celebrate the Life and Legacy of Sir Patrick Omotayo Adedapo – Aisida and the Launch of the PADICO Empowerment Foundation

The family of the esteemed Sir Patrick Omotayo Adedapo – Aisida (PADICO) cordially invites the general public to join them in commemorating his life and launching a foundation in his honor. Sir Patrick, who was born on June 12, 1949, and passed away on May 16, 2024, was a respected figure in the community.

A series of events have been organized to celebrate his impactful life and to inaugurate the PADICO Empowerment Foundation, an initiative aimed at continuing his legacy of service and empowerment.

The week of remembrance will commence with “Ajagbo e” on Wednesday, May 14th, 2025, at 10:00 am at his residence on Old Ikare Road, Owo, Ondo State. This will be followed by a Medical Outreach on Thursday, May 15th, 2025, at 10:00 am at the same venue, reflecting Sir Patrick’s commitment to the well-being of the community.

The highlight of the week will be the Launching Ceremony of the PADICO Empowerment Foundation on Thursday, May 15th, 2025, at 11:00 am, also at his residence. This significant event will be graced by distinguished personalities, including His Excellency, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the Governor of Ondo State, who will be the Distinguished Guest of Honour. Esteemed Royal Fathers, His Imperial Majesty, Alayeluwa Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye III (Olowo of Owo), and His Royal Majesty, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi (Deji of Akure), will also be in attendance.

The ceremony will feature insightful addresses from guest speakers Barr. Dupe Aisida and Dr. Isaac Aladeniyi, alongside the presence of notable Special Guests of Honour such as Engr. Olayinka Abdul Ebiti, Princess Mrs. Tola Aworh, and Mr. Pius Ayodele. The children of Sir Patrick are the hosts of this significant occasion.

The week will culminate in a Thanksgiving Service on Friday, May 16th, 2025, at 10:00 am at the Methodist Cathedral, Fajuyi Road, Owo, Ondo State, followed immediately by a Reception at the SB Aruwajoye Civic Centre, along the Akure – Owo – Ifon – Benin Road, Owo, Ondo State, starting at 12:00 pm.

The family extends a warm invitation to friends, associates, and the general public to join them in honoring the memory of Sir Patrick Omotayo Adedapo – Aisida and to witness the launch of an initiative that embodies his lifelong dedication to uplifting others.

Born in June 1949 into the esteemed Adedapo-Aisida family of Owo, Patrick Omotayo Aisida, affectionately known as “Padico,” was the son of Chief Jacob Adedapo-Aisida, a renowned and successful businessman, and Madam Comfort Ogunbiola Adedapo-Aisida.

Padico’s early education began at Methodist Primary School, Owo, followed by secondary education at Aquinas College, Akure, and his Higher School Certificate at Molusi College, Ijebu Igbo. He then pursued higher learning at the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University), earning a B.Sc. degree in Botany.

His brief but impactful tenure in the Ondo State Civil Service saw Padico recognized as a marvelous, conscientious, and diligent worker. He was a friendly yet firm superior, earning the genuine love, admiration, and respect of his colleagues for his exemplary leadership and mentorship. Driven by entrepreneurial spirit, he transitioned to private business, where he flourished until his passing.

Padico’s true legacy lies in his profound impact on others. A remarkable individual from a young age, his contributions fostered a generation of vibrant and audacious leaders now shaping various fields.

Upon reaching the age of 70, he returned to his ancestral home in Owo, dedicating his retirement to significant community service aimed at the city’s growth and development and serving humanity. He passed away in the early hours of Friday, May 17th, 2024, bringing an end to a life of significant contribution
