Oladipupo Mabogaje , Building Footprint in Sand of time as he bags yet, another award

Popularly known as jagaban of Engineering worldwide, Engr Oladipupo Mabogaje has added a new feather to his cap as he bagged the fellowship of Nigerian Institution of procurement Engineers, in Abuja last weekend.

This is not the first time, he will be honored but this time, it comes with added responsibility as the Chairman of NSE Maitama Branch where he has been working hard to leave his footprints in sand of time. Since assuming the office as the Chainman of the Branch, he has worked relentlessly to take the branch h8ighier and leave it better than he met it.

Before his coming to office, the Branch hitherto operated outside its domain in Maitama, but his administration have relocated Secretariat back to Maitama where it is rightly supposed to be. A plan for Permanent secretariat, to be called Digital House has also been mapped. To aid its Revenue generation which is critical to its operation, the Branch acquired land for Block Industry.

Under his stewardship,  Jagaban as popularly called has made members welfare his priority. Some young members have also been assisted towards securing employment. The administration has also been advancing entrepreneurship as a the means to ensure members who has flair for job creation become employers and hire others.

In same way, the Branch did not leave out community engineering activities. At the last count, the Branch has produced Hand Gloves for Traffic Officers to ease their operations,, To help in energy management, the Branch produced energy saving Chat calendar  for MDA’s & Ministries within FCT. 3. What is more, the NSE has not faltered in preparing Advisory messages for govt on infrastructure policy. And much more still ongoing as leaves footprints in sand of time.

On personal note, he has donated Books to various universities both in Abuja, Nasarawa and Enugu as part of his personal commitment to education.

Born to the family of Alhaji (Late) Lamidi Akanbi MABOGAJE & Alhaja Taiye Aminat MABOGAJE, from Ijebu-Ode, LGA of Ogun State and Ilorin West, LGA of (Idi-Ape Compound), Kwara State respectively, Oladipupo, had his primary education at Saint’s Peter Primary School before proceeding Ewutitun Grammar School, Mafoluku, Oshodi, Lagos for his secondary education.

With his determination to become an engineer in front burner, Mabogaje proceeded to University of Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria, where he graduated with B.Sc (Hons) Mechanical Engineering and Master of Science (M.Sc) in Industrial and Production Engineering. In the course of his career, he returned back to school to bag MBA (General Option) from Nasarawa State University, Keffi .and Subsequently proceeded for M.Phil / P.Hd in Business Administration, 2020.2021 calendar year from Nasararwa State University, Keffi (which is currently in progress).

He has worked in many capacities but one of the most prominent experiences was as a Maintenance Officer at the Nigerian Society of Engineers National Secretariat between January 2007 – May, 2010. MABOGAJE also worked in the same capacity at the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigerian (COREN). Between 1st June, 2010 to Date, he has worked within the Council in many capacities such as Maintenance Officer, Zonal Manager (South-South 2013), Head of Procurement Unit of COREN 2014 – 18th October 2018, Head of Education & Training Department of COREN between 19th October 2018 to 22nd January, 2021. He is presently heading The Procurement Unit of COREN in which he has transformed it better.

Engr O. I. Mabogaje has served in various capacities in Committees of NSE National Secretariat, some of which are: Committees of the Branch and Divisions, Bureau of Public Procurements as an Observer, and Developed, Procurement CPD paper with Engr. Prof. James Akanmu, FNSE for the Mandatory Continuing Professional, Development Workshop for the Great Society since 2015,

Mabogaje has attended over forty conferences across engineering fields and above fifty
workshops/training as at 2021 calendar year. Currently serving as the Chairman of NSE Maitama Branch (Dignity Branch) where he has previously served as Vice Chairman and in various capacities. he has served engineering at national level as Auditor General for NIMechE, Secretary/Member of AGM Planning Committee NIMechE, Committee Member on Constitutional and Byelaws Review of NIMechE 2013, etc.

Mabogaje became a Certified Procurement Specialist with BPP in 2011 and has undergone much training in the engineering field and Management Capacities Development. . For his works he has received many awards to appreciate his contributions to engineering. He has received many awards for his services and still more for his services to engineering. In 2013, he was a recipient of Presidential Merit Award by President Engr. Ademola Isaac Olorunfemi and hosts of others.
