    We are recruiting to fill the position below:

    Job Title: HSE Officer

    Location: Alimosho, Lagos
    Employment Type: Full-time

    Summary

    1. Reporting to the HSE Coordinator, the HSE Officer supports the implementation and enforcement of health, safety, and environmental policies across the organization.
    2. The role involves assisting with risk assessments, facilitating training, monitoring compliance, and promoting safe work practices, in alignment with company standards and regulatory requirements.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Assist in implementing HSE policies and procedures under the guidance of the HSE Coordinator.
    2. Support company-wide compliance with applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations.
    3. Conduct routine inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
    4. Recommend and support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
    5. Facilitate safety induction and awareness training for staff and contractors.
    6. Report and document incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions promptly.
    7. Participate in incident investigations and contribute to root cause analyses.
    8. Maintain accurate records of HSE-related activities, reports, and inspections.
    9. Support safety audits and follow up on identified action items.
    10. Participate in emergency preparedness drills and provide support in actual emergencies.
    11. Stay informed on relevant HSE legislation and report updates to the HSE Coordinator.

    Required Skills and Qualifications

    1. Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
    2. 1 – 2 years work experience.
    3. Relevant safety certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA).
    4. Working knowledge of HSE regulations and standards.
    5. Good communication and teamwork skills.
    6. Attention to detail and the ability to document findings accurately.
    7. Willingness to learn and follow supervision from the HSE Coordinator.
    8. Ability to deliver basic HSE training and engage employees in safety practices.
