Researchers from the Innovation and Advance Science Research Group (IASRG) at Summit University, Offa, recently visited Tiwakiki Consulting Limited in Ibadan to study the company’s innovative biomass conversion processes.
The visit, which took place on December 17, 2024, focused on Tiwakiki’s work in transforming agricultural waste into valuable resources.
The IASRG team observed firsthand how Tiwakiki converts cow dung and bowel contents into biogas, a clean-burning fuel used primarily for cooking. This process offers a sustainable alternative to traditional fuels, reducing reliance on fossil fuels and mitigating their environmental impact.
The conversion process also yields organic fertilizer, enhancing agricultural productivity and promoting soil health. Additionally, the team learned about the production of char, a cleaner-burning alternative to conventional cooking fuels.
