On February 17th 2022, Engineers across the country will converge on Abuja for the investiture of the National Chairman of the Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Engr Mrs Funmilade Akingbagbohun FNSE, FNIMechE.
The event, which will be chaired by the President of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Engr Tasiu Saad Gidari-Wudil, is scheduled to host at National Engineering Centre, Abuja.
Dignitaries who have been confirmed for the event are: Mr Folashodun Adebisi Shonubi, Deputy Governor (Operations) Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN, Minister of Works and Housing, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, FNSE, FNIMechE, Minister of Interior, Mallam Mele Kolo Kyari, GMD/CEO NNPC LTD, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Executive Governor of Lagos State, Engr Abdullah A. Sule, , Executive Governor, Nassarrawa, Prof Babagana Zulum, FNSE, Executive Governor, Borno, Engr Noimot Salako-Oyedele, , deputy Governor, Ogun State, Engr Benson O. Abounu, Deputy Governor, Benue state.
Engr. Ben George Okoyo, , MD/CEO Point Engineering will present the inauguration lecture while the Vice President of Federal Republic of Nigeria, Prof.Yemi Osinbajo is the Distinguished Guest of Honour.
The host, Engr Mohammed Baba Ndaliman on behalf of the Institution is looking forward to host all as we mark another.
During the Pres briefing, in Lagos, Engr. Mrs Vera Ntofon, Chairman, Inauguration Planning Committee, made the details of the investiture available to newsmen in Lagos on Tuesday.
Akingbagbohun is the immediate past Chairman, NSE Ikeja Branch, and first female Chairman, NiMechE, Lagos chapter. She is a Fellow of NSE, NIMechE, Nigerian Institution of Environmental Engineers and a Fellow of several other associations. She holds B.Sc Degree in Mechanical Engineering, the University of Ibadan, after acquiring a Higher National Diploma (HND) in the same field at the Yaba College of Technology and a Master’s Degree at the University of Lagos. She also bagged an Honorary Doctorate degree in Engineering Development and National Growth from the European American University with Health, Safety and Environment certifications. Sheis , a registered COREN engineer with several other qualifications and certifications has served on several NSE national boards and led many innovations nationally as well as globally.
