NSE submits memoranda at South-west committee review

The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) has submitted memoranda to the Southwest Lagos Centre, Committee on the Review of the 1999 Constitution.

The society wants all engineering institutions to be headed by qualified engineers.

According to the body, an institution, agency or ministry should be created for engineering, headed by an Engineer-General of the Federation.

It was stated in the memoranda that there should be charter status for the Nigerian Society of Engineers.

The body also submitted that the Engineering Ministry, Department & Agencies (MDAs) be headed by engineers.

The NSE also stated that in compliance with Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON), there should be constitutional provision for quality check of goods imported into the country, even for local manufacturers as well.
