Visitors to AOS Orwell Booth at the just concluded Society of Petroleum Engineers SPE annual conference and exhibition were thrilled to a parade of cutting edge technologies, new products and solutions which the company showcased to reinforce its mission statement as a truly indigenous, full stream oilfield servicing outfit with global access to a rich network of Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).
The company adopts “Partnering for growth” as its theme for this year’s exhibition. Unfazed by a low price regime with reduction in drilling activities, AOS Orwell proudly showcased well workover integrated and re-entry solutions to help its customers maximize production from brown fields at much lower costs than new wells. Fishing and Wireline (mainly Slickline, perforation and pipe recovery) were showcased through video animation from the well construction division (WCD). While from the process automation division (PMD), a combination of new – to – life and existing products and solutions hitherto, under incubation as well as local content in-country capability and affordable workshop and preferred service centers set up for valves, compressors, metering skids as well as Low/Medium voltage electrical panels were physically on display for a diverse range of customers from the oil and gas, electrical and power sectors.
By far the most innovative technology that held customers’ imagination from the AOS Orwell stable at this year’s exhibition was the 3 D Virtual Reality FPSO mask-like Camera that is worn like a goggle and manipulated from handheld devices with buttons. With the demo kits, the customer is taken into renew world of 3D virtual reality in which he travels up and down forth and back as if inside of an FPSO – floating storage , processing and off-loading crude oil tanker up to 10 storey in depth.
