The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Ota Branch, today joins the academic and engineering community in celebrating a beacon of excellence, Professor Jeremiah Ojediran, FNSE, the Vice-Chancellor of Bells University of Technology, on the occasion of his birthday.
Prof. Ojediran’s tenure has been defined by a rare synergy between the gown and the town. As a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, he hasn’t just been a member in name but a pillar of support for the Ota Branch as he consistently bridges the gap between academic research and professional engineering practice.
Under his visionary leadership, Bells University of Technology has become a “home away from home” for the NSE Ota Branch. His contributions have been both structural and inspirational.
From granting the free use of the Bells International Conference Centre for high-profile events—including the inauguration of the Branch’s 3rd Chairman attended by the Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, FNSE—to providing a dedicated office space for the Branch Secretariat, his impact is visible.
Prof. Ojediran has institutionalised the yearly induction of engineering graduates in collaboration with the Branch, ensuring that the next generation of engineers enters the profession with the right mentorship.
He has spearheaded joint working groups aimed at national engineering development, fostering an environment where innovation meets practical problem-solving.
Speaking on behalf of the professional body, Engr. Fabian Anyanwu, the Chairman of NSE Ota Branch offered a glowing tribute to the celebrant.
“On behalf of the NSE Ota Branch and the wider engineering fraternity, I stand to salute a colossus of engineering education, Prof. Jeremiah Ojediran. His commitment to the Ota Branch is unparalleled. Whether it is through hosting our monthly meetings in world-class facilities at no cost or providing his seasoned presence at our Engineering Weeks, he has proven that true leadership is about service.
“We celebrate not just a Vice-Chancellor, but a mentor and a patriot who understands that the future of Nigeria lies in the hands of well-trained engineers. ”
The NSE Ota Branch remains deeply grateful for the Professor’s open-door policy and his willingness to grace branch programs with his distinguished presence. As he celebrates another year, the Branch reaffirms its commitment to this fruitful partnership that continues to elevate the engineering profession in Ogun State and beyond.
“We wish Engr. Prof. Jeremiah Ojediran, FNSE, a memorable birthday filled with joy, and we pray for long life and prosperity as he continues to lead BellsTech to greater heights.” he said.
