Construction Kaiser deepens Partnership with NSE Lagos Branch to empower Young Engineers

Construction Kaiser Limited (CKL) has restated commitments to deepen its partnership with Nigerian Society of Engineers, NSE Lagos Branch to empower young engineers through supports for Young Engineers Forum of Nigeria (YEFoN) Lagos Branch.

CKL, by this commitment, aims to nurture the next generation of engineering professionals and prepare them for career in engineering.

This was highlight of the visit to the company on September 5th, 2024, where the CEO of Construction Kaiser Limited (CKL) Engr. Igbuan Okaisabor, hosted members of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE)-Lagos Branch and the Young Engineers Forum of Nigeria (YEFoN)-Lagos Branch.

The CEO, Engr. Igbuan Okaisabor reiterated his company’s commitment to empowering students both in tertiary institutions and secondary schools.

He mentioned projects which his company, through the Kaiser Foundation, is currently embarking on to achieve this goals. Among the projects are, but not limited to; Summer Internship Schemes, Student Scholarships, Graduate Entrepreneur Scheme, Soft Skills Development program which has impacted over 4,000 beneficiaries.

By providing practical experience, financial support, and essential skills, CKL is equipping students and graduates with the tools they need to succeed in their chosen engineering careers.

One of the most notable outcomes of this partnership has been the internship opportunities offered to young engineers at the Branch. By providing hands-on experience in a real-world setting, these internships allow students to apply theoretical knowledge, develop practical skills, and gain valuable insights in engineering industry.

Engr. Igbuan Okaisabor also used announced internship offer to 3 students from the YEFoN Lagos Branch as part of the companies growing commitment to NSE and young engineers development. The beneficiaries are; Stephen Kyocher, a graduate of Civil Engineering, Ojor Godstime and Adekunle Demilade, both students of the University of Lagos.

The young engineers expressed gratitude for the opportunity to work with the company, learn from experienced engineers, and contribute to meaningful initiatives.

The Immediate Past Chairman of NSE-Lagos Branch, Engr Kunle Bello appreciated the company’s efforts. He pledged the Branch’s commitment to ensure that the company accesses more talented young engineers any time the need arises. The vice chairman of the branch expressed the Branch’s readiness for more partnerships that benefits both organisations.

The partnership between CKL and the NSE-Lagos Branch has potential to deepen industry- academic partnership through leveraging their respective strengths to create a more supportive and inclusive environment for young engineers.

One of the highlights of the meeting was  presentation of  awards to the winners of the quiz organized by the YEFoN; Adeniyi Fadilullahi, Ogoke Ugonna, and Ojor God’stime.

In attendance at the meeting, are; Engr. Lukman Bakare- Vice Chairman, Engr. Adekunle Bello- Immediate Past Chairman, Engr. Adetunji Fagbola – General Secretary, Engr. Mojisola Oyelowo- Publicity Secretary, Engr. Rankins Oguara – Young Engineers Forum Coordinator/ Assistant Technical Secretary, Miss. Omolara -NSE Administrator, Stephen Kyocher, Adekunle Demilade, Olukoya Abidemi Zainab, and the winners of the quiz; Adeniyi Fadilullahi, Ogoke Ugonna, and Ojor God’stime.

NSE Lagos Branch meets every second Tuesday of the Month at Oyebolu Engineering Center, University of Lagos, behind Physical Planning Department.
