The Director-General, Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN), Dr. Mustapha Abdullåhi has reassured Nigerians that the effect of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda will be felt in all sectors of the economy.
He gave the assurance at the 45th Anniversary of the Nigerian Building and Road Research Institute (NBRRI) in Ota, Ogun State.
The ECN Boss stressed the importance of government institutions like NBRRI as engine room for deep research and reaffirmed the commitment of the Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology Chief Uche Geoffrey Nnaji to effectively coordinate all agencies under him.
“The Honourable Minister is determined. He is poised, just like all other agencies under his able leadership, to redefine governance across board.
“You would have seen his moves since assuming office. He has been moving around, meeting various stakeholders to provide leadership that will guarantee quality delivery of jobs and responsibilities by relevant agencies under his supervision.
“He is here to make positive impact.” Dr. Abdullåhi assured.
In his welcome speech, the Minister expressed his admiration for the NBRRI especially on how the agency has fared in recent times with new vigour and zest to change the narratives.
Chief Nnaji said: “As we all know, all research institutes are problem solvers, but I won’t hesitate to state that NBRRI is not just a problem solver but this great institute is also a goal getter, innovative, solution provider, economic builder and live safer
“From inception in 1978, NBRRI has been making the country proud in areas of providing solutions in tackling the menace of building collapse, bridge and road failures, housing deficit as well as engineering materials.
” I want to believe the Management and the entire staff of the agency will be encouraged by my leadership to even do more.”
The NBRRI is one of the 17 agencies, like the Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN) under the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology.
