The Nigerian Society of Engineers, NSE, Awka Branch has elected new officers, to pilot the affairs of the Branch in the new engineering year- 2023/2024 during their Annual General Meeting, AGM, over the weekend, Isqil Najim reports.
The election comprises all officers aside the Chairman who is serving another term as enshrined in the bye-law.
Prior to the election, the Chairman, Engr David Okeke used the opportunity to present his administration scorecard in the last engineering year. He appreciated the President of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Engr Tasiu Saad Gidari Wudil and Deputy President, Engr Margaret Oguntala and other elders of the Society which included the past Chairmen of the Branch, fellows and many more
According to him, the Branch under his leadership undertook various activities that cover Continuous Professional Development seminars by experts, core engineering industrial visitations, vital courtesy visitations, welfarism, training of young engineers, Community outreaches, visibility and publicity, catch them young porgramme though Science Secondary school Quiz Competition, job placement and mentorship and many others.
While thanking members and sponsors of NSE Awka Branch for their generosity, cooperation and flexibility, which according to him, were of great help in discharging his duties as Chairman of the Branch, Engr Okeke called for more efforts and supports towards building on the existing results.
‘Let us not take this positive momentum as a reason to sit back and relax. Rather, let us be energized by the progress we have made, and continue to push onward until we reach our final goal.’ He charges
“We cannot further make enviable progress and success without noting our wins and loses.” He said, adding that he is proud of the progresses recorded by the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Awka Branch in the past years
He thanked members for their past supports and presence at the Branch activities while opening door for more counsels as he leads the Branch for another year. In is word: “I wish to further seek your advice, support, togetherness and visibility presence as we network, communicate and share knowledge, consider all to be very useful in the next dispensation.”
