(A) PREAMBLE: Summit University, Offa (SUN, Offa), licensed in March 2015 by the National University Commission (NUC), a regulatory body responsible for overseeing and coordinating university education in Nigeria, is a faith based private university owned by Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria (ADSN). It commenced academic activities in March 6, 2017.

The Vision of the University is to provide for the advancement of learning and the acquisition of sound education enriched with good morals. Its Mission is to be a topmost agency for personal fulfillment as well as national development and the Philosophy is to produce educated men and women imbued with moral and spiritual integrity for the service of God and benefit of humanity.

(D) IMPORTANT NOTES/ CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
(1) For each post advertised, only very few spaces are available.
(2) All candidates must possess NYSC Discharge Certificate or Exemption Certificate or Certificate of Exclusion where applicable
(3) Evidence in terms of certificates and practical demonstration of Computer Literacy is required for all positions
(4) Salaries and other conditions of service are very attractive and in accordance with the Federal Government Salary Scale 2019.
(5) All candidates should indicate post desired and department on the top left hand corner of the envelope.

(E) APPOINTMENT CATEGORIES AND MINIMUM ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS
(a) Professor (CONUAS 07) and Reader (CONUAS 06)
A candidate to be appointed Reader or Associate Professor shall have spent a minimum of three years as a Senior Lecturer in the University system, while a candidate to be appointed full Professor shall have spent a minimum of three years as a Reader or Associate Professor in a recognized University. Candidates should have the requisite academic/professional qualifications, mandatorily a higher degree such as Doctorate Degree or its equivalent; ability to initiate, develop and supervise research; some administrative experience; scholarly publications in reputable journals, books and other outlets; experience in initiating and developing academic group research; experience in attracting research grants at local/ institutional, national and international levels, and experience in working in inter-disciplinary and trans-disciplinary groups.

(b) Senior Lecturer (CONUAS 05)
Appointment to the above position shall be made based on evidence of exceptional research, attraction of grants at local/ institutional and national levels, and teaching ability and experience. Normally, the candidate shall possess a higher degree such as a doctorate in the relevant field with adequate scholarly publications, experience in attracting research grant, and possess the ability to initiate and develop research and possess a minimum of 6 years of experience in working in inter-disciplinary and trans-disciplinary groups.

(c) Lecturer I (CONUAS 04)
The suitable candidate shall normally possess a higher degree such as a Ph.D. in the relevant filed, a minimum of three years of experience in teaching as Lecturer II and possess scholarly publications in reputable Journals and experience in attracting research grants at local/institutional levels.

(d) Lecturer II (CONUAS 03)
The suitable candidate shall normally possess a higher degree such as Ph.D in the relevant field, or three years of experience in teaching as Assistant Lecturer and possess scholarly publications. In the case of clinical Lecturers, on successful completion of Fellowship Program of National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (NPMCN) or equivalent shall be upgraded to Lecturer I, with effect from the date the Fellowship is awarded by the Senate of the NPMCN or equivalent body.

(e) Assistant Lecturer (CONUAS 02)
Normally, candidate shall possess a Master’s degree registrable for a Doctorate Degree programme after a good Honour’s degree. Evidence of considerable teaching or research potential will be of advantage. On successful completion of a Ph.D. the Assistant Lecturer shall be upgraded to Lecturer II with effect from the date the Ph.D. degree is awarded by the Senate of a recognized University.
