The Chairman of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Engr Femi John Adedotun has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to fulfill his campaign promises and take Nigerian to a rightful place among Industrialized nations.
Adedotun said this while sending out his congratulatory message to the President who was sworn in on May 29, 2023, to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari who governed the country for 8 years.
He congratulated the president, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shetima on behalf of the Branch. He stated that the inauguration will mark a start of a new period of hope and opportunities.”
Adedotun expressed his optimism that the president will justify the mandate bestowed him to bring rapid development to a country yearning for transformational leadership. He charges the President to among others, fast-tract industrialization and take Nigeria to its rightful place among industrialized nations. Saying that a nation can only grow as strong as its industry which is anchored by engineers and technologists.
He urged the President to replicate Lagos success in Nigeria to a larger scale and bring prosperity and unity to all regardless of tribe and religion.
He prayed that God will grant the president good health and wisdom. He hopes that he and his team found strength in the collective support and energy of Nigeria.
Similarly, the Branch through the Chairman extends his best wish to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on his sector term.
According to him, the Branch and it elders felicitate with the Governor as he begins a new era where he consolidates his past achievements towards bringing more good governance to the people of Lagos.
He praises the Governor and his deputy, Engr Obafemi Hamza for the strides and success achieved in their first term.
Adedotun appreciates many supports rendered to the Branch by President Bola Tinubu during his tenure as Governor of Lagos State as well as the current Sanwo-Olu led administration. He recalls that as Governor of Lagos, the Tinubu administration donated a brand new Coastal bus to the Branch, and supported many innovative programmes at the Branch. He pledges the support of engineers to both Federal and state government in their quest to accomplish their development agenda for the people.
“We are filled with anticipation and optimism for the continued positive changes that are yet to come.” he said.
“May this second term in office be marked by expanded remarkable achievement Ms and lasting legacies.” he concluded.
