The Nigeria Institution of Civil Engineers, NICE has conferred fellowship status Engr Alabi Ayodele and 51 engineers that have distinguished themselves in different fields of engineering.
The event took place in Abuja, and it is the 21st in the series of conferment Lecture and Ceremony with the theme; “Nigeria Drainage Pattern and Flood Events.”
During the event, the President of NSE Engr. Tasiu Gidari-Wudil (FNSE), congratulated the conferees for attaining the prestigious fellowship status of the society. He urged them to be more responsible to the society as ambassadors of Engineering and also serve as role models to younger professionals.
“Upon your conferment as a fellow, you will become a member of the NSE College of Fellows, a privilege that signals the commencement of another journey of responsibility to the society.
Engr. Charles Ayodele Alabi was born in Ile-Ife, in the Old Western Region but in now Osun State of Nigeria to the family of Pa and Mama Titus Komolafe Alabi (both of blessed memory) and hails from ESUN EKITI, in Ikole Local Government Area of Ekiti State.
His father, Pa Titus Komolafe Alabi was in the same Civil Engineering profession (though called Bricklayer in those days). Ayo as he is fondly called was a keen observer of his father’s acumen at work, and he developed with the help of technology to become a force to reckon with in the Engineering profession today.
Engr. Ayo Alabi had his Primary School Education at ST. PHILIP’S PRIMARY SCHOOL, ILORO, ILE-IFE. He attended ST. JOHN’S GRAMMAR SCHOOL, ILE-IFE, for his Secondary School Education where he came out with the best result in West African School Certificate in the whole of the Old Oranrniyan Local Government Area in the Old Oyo State in June 1979.
He studied Civil Engineering at the University of Lagos where he obtained a Second Class Honours Degree in the year 1984. He then completed his mandatory National Youth Service Corps scheme in the year 1985.
In a bid to further boost his educational prowess, he went ahead to to pursue a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering from the University Of Lagos with specialization in Hydraulics and Water Resources between September 1986 And June 1987.
ENGR. ALABI AYODELE CHARLES is a member of the following professional bodies: Nigeria Society of Engineers and Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers, NICE. He is registered with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria, COREN.
ENGR. ALABI AYODELE CHARLES has over 38 years of post-graduate experience.
His professional experience started from Attache Engineer with Lagos State Min. of Works and Transport on the Lagos Metro line projects. He was also a Pupil Engineer with Nigeria Army Engineering at B Maintenance Squardron, 27 Point Road Apapa.
Other work experiences include: Engineer Grade II with Lagos State Water Corporation on the World Bank Assisted Expanded Lagos Water Supply Scheme, Sole Manager of SEAGEMS LTD (A DIVISION OF LAWSON’S CORPORATION) where his responsibilities varied across advising the board with weekly status of the company. Negotiating and Producing fish and fishes products from foreign exporters. Liaising with governmental agencies. Nominating and recommending senior managers amongst others.
He set up his company; FASTLINK CONSTRUCTION CO NIG LTD which is located at No. 4 Oluyemi Street, Idi-Ishin, Jericho, Ibadan in October 1992. Ever since then, he has executed several projects as the CEO of FASTLINK CONSTRUCTION CO LTD.
As the Managing Director of FASTLINK CONSTRUCTION CO. LTD, he held vast responsibilities cutting across initiating contractual relationships with relevant organizations. Liaising with commercial attaches of various foreign embassies. Initiating loan proposals for the execution of projects with banks amongst many other responsibilities.
He also executed several projects as the CEO of Fastlink Construction CO LTD, such as • Construction of Duplex Houses for Lagos State Govt [ Marwa Scheme]; Construction of several Retaining walls abutting various facilities for the University of Lagos; Partitioning of Library Complex for LASPOTECH; Selected roads in Ondo State; Reconstruction of collapse fence at RansomeKuti Road; Construction of Ceremonial and internal roads for AfeBabalola University; Construction of several roads and pavements including the Central Police Station for Lekki Free Trade Zone among other Engineering works he has executed across the country among others.
Engr. Ayo Alabi is a man of immense connection and network who has donated several projects to his alma mater , St. John’s College, Ile Ife where he is the Chairman, Board of Governors.
Apart from being a disciplinarian, Engr. Ayo Alabi is great family man, a philanthropist of note and an influencer who impact has been felt far across several places in Nigeria.
Engr. Alabi is married to an ebony and paragon of beauty, Mrs. Biodun Ayo-Alabi and the marriage is blessed with successful children.
