COREN-STC Inspects GELD Construction Company At Amansea.

Members of the Anambra State Technical Committee Of COREN visited the Civil and construction company awarded the Amansea-Ebenebe road.

Receiving the COREN inspectorate, Engr. Fadii Azzam, the Chief Engineer and Project Manager of GELD construction company said that he has been in Nigeria since 2013 and had worked with many construction company including RCC amongst others.

He said the 26km Project has it’s start point from Amansea Ebenebe and ended at Oba-Ofemmiri.

According to him, the road which was awarded in October 20th 2022 was not motorable till commencement of their work which has lasted for 3 weeks now.

He added that the road project was divided into 4 phases, which includes;

Section 1: Amansea 0-4km.
Section 2: 4-11km with the extent been
asphalt.
Section 3: 11-14km with the extent of drainage
placement. This include stone base
and concrete mix.
Section 4: 14-19km, here the field area was
affected by flood. Therefore,
From 19-26km, the firm are working to raise the ground level to construct road that are high enough to avert any excesses of flood disaster.

He stressed that 11-26 requires much earth work and can be done only in dry season and added that 30-35% of the employees are from the community.

In his remark, The Chairman Anambra State COREN- ERM Technical Committee applauded the company for engaging workers from the community and requested for the list of the engineering personnel with the company. He added that his team will be visiting the site and firm on routine bases to monitor the work and progress.

He also advised the firm to work according to standard and specification to avoid revocation.
