A non- governmental Organisation, Touch Of Love & Lifting Hands Foundation, has disclosed that it would be celebrating her fifth year anniversary and Humanitarian Week 2022 with 1000 old and widows from Ifako-Ijaiye local government, and environs, Lagos state, Nigeria
The event which is slated between December 17 to 21, 2022 has the theme “Civic Responsibility and Good Governance : Exercising the Voting Right and Widows and aged in ushering in a better Society.
In a statement issued by the founder, Engr Wuraola Atinuke Owolabi-Agbaje, the organisation’s goal is to create a world where everyone feels valued and are able to contribute meaningfully to the society and where love and affection are shown toward the less privilege in the society.
In achieving these goals, it noted that the Foundation have been able to reach out to thousands of women and children in the community through various intervention programmes and activities.
For this edition, events has been broken into 5 days as listed below with their various activities.
On Day 1: Saturday, Dec 17, 2022, the event will be officially flagged off with prayers and worship at 8am. There after, the Organisation will hold sensitization activities and ” We Community Imitative”. The theme of the event is “Engagement with the elders sharing true life experiences with the younger generation in a bid to shape them for a better future.”.
On Day 2: (10:00am-noon); Sunday, Dec 18, 2022.
-Thanksgiving In Church.
On Day 3: 10:00am-2:00pm; Monday, Dec 19, 2022.
-Health awareness talk and free comprehensive health screening with free drugs for the aged.
Evening Event @ 2:00pm-6:00pm.
There will be provision of Free training and empowerment for the widows in the community.
On Day 4: 9am-3pm
Awareness about the forthcoming election will hold. There will be Voter Education on 2023 Electoral Process/ Community Engagement and Sensitization on PVC Collection .
There will also Game Contest for the Aged
On Day 5: (12:00pm-5:00pm) Wednesday, Dec 21, 20
-End of the year party/gifting of Christmas packages to the aged and vulnerable widows in the society.
The Foundation has previously been supporting Women and elderly and carried out medical outreach in the communities around Lagos. It has also been supporting poor students in their educational pursuit.
