Kwara to Host 2023 NIMechE International Conference

The Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers (NIMechE) Ilorin Chapter has been chosen as the host for 36th International Conference of the Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers (NIMechE). The event will hold on October 2023

The announcement was made by the National Chairman of the Institution, Engr. (Dr) Mrs Funmilade Akingbagbohun, during the Dinner and Award Night of the Institution, held on Thursday, 20th October 2022, at Ibadan to round off the hugely successful 35th International Conference of the Institution.

The Chairman of NIMechE Ilorin Chapter, Engr. Dr Yahaya Sulaiman Abimbola, in his acceptance speech following the announcement, appreciated the National Leadership of NIMechE, the Council, and the entire Nigerian Mechanical Engineers for finding Ilorin, Kwara state capital worthy of being the host of the next (36th) International Conference of the Institution

He assured them of a memorable experience at Harmony 2023. He also congratulated Ibadan Chapter for the successful hosting of the 2022 edition and prayed to God Almighty to spare the lives of everybody beyond October 2023. He said that Ilorin will raise the bar of the International Conference of NIMechE.

In a related development, four (4) Members of the Ilorin Chapter: Engr. Suleiman Rotimi Iliasu, the Hon. Commissioner for Works and Transport; Engr. Prof. J.O. Aweda, the Pioneer Chairman of NIMechE Ilorin Chapter; Engr. Olasupo Nelson Oladimeji, the GMD of Henry George Nig. Ltd, and Engr. Taiwo Issa Olashehu, the Chairman of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) you Ilorin Branch, were Conferred as Fellows of the Institution; the highest Cadre of Membership.

Also, the Chairman LUBCON Ltd, Engr. Jani Ibrahim, FNSE, FAEng, mni, OON, was celebrated as his Company, Lubcon Ltd. won the 2022 Indigenous Company of the Year Award, while he also received an Award of Excellence in recognition of his numerous contributions to the development of Engineering Practice in Nigeria and abroad
