Atume, Bako join Markurdi Branch on Industrial Tour in Benue; Commend Oracle Conglomerate Group

The National Vice President Corporate Services, at the Nigerian Society of Engineers, NSE, Engr. Felix Atume, in company of the NSE Lafia Branch Chairman, Engr. Thomas Bako,joined the Makurdi Branch on an Industrial Tour at Oracle Conglomerate Group of companies on 18th August, 2022.

During the visit, the Chairman of NSE Makurdi Branch, Engr. Andrew Wuese said that Oracle Conglomerate Group is a big organization comprising numerous active industries that are into manufacture of products, rendering of quality services and manpower development.

He added that the Oracle conglomerate has shown particular interest in exposing engineers, technologists, technicians and craftsmen to training, operation, construction and maintenance of several industrial equipment/ machines and hence improving their welfare and capacity development.

The Group Managing Director, of the company, Engr. Chris Omiyi expressed gratitude to the Engineering body for showing interest in the activities of the firm. He revealed that his organization has employed over 35 Engineers with a good number of technologists, technicians and craftsmen working in different sectors of the organization.

Omiyi expressed confidence in Nigerian Engineers’ capabilities to deliver results, he added that inadequate training was, however, the missing link and that Oracle Conglomerate was there to bridge the gap.

One of the visited places was the plastics industry where excellent potential in terms of capacity, infrastructure, and skilled manpower was evident. The industry manufactures polymer materials of all sorts and offers services in plastics important to the public and general industries.

Another visited arm of the organization was the Intercontinental College of Technology Makurdi where manpower training and courses in Science and Technological were being offered. The college offers practical training into software development, computer hardware maintenance and lots more.

Other areas of the organization include the furniture industries where varieties of doors and other furniture are made, the animal feed, floor and rice mills industries, the automobile workshop, fertilizer blending plant, water production factory and the TV and radio broadcasting Station which is under construction.

Engr. Felix Atume,  stated that there was high level of engineering activities in the organization and added that the Nigerian Society of Engineers has continued to emphasize and promote mandatory continuing professional development which he pointed out that the company has integrated into its operations.

Atume, who previously served as the Executive Secretary of NSE and Past COREN Registrar, , appealed to the organization to make provision for proper sustainability policy and continues to open up employment opportunities in the community.
