Profile of Engr Adeolu Felix Ogundare FNSE 1962 to 2022

Pastor (Engr) Adewumi Olusesan (Adeolu) Felix Ogundare was born in Emure-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria on the 5th day of May, in the year 1962 to the Late Chief Ebenezer Idowu Ogundare and Late Chief (Mrs.) Victoria Folakemi Ogundare (Nee Ogundare) of blessed memory. He was the second amongst the six children of five boys and one girl.

He obtained his Primary School Leaving Certificate at Saint Paul’s Primary School, Emure-Ekiti from 1969-1975. Later, from 1975-1980, he attended Oyemekun Grammar School, Akure for his secondary education where he passed the West African School Certificate Examinations (WASCE) with flying colors.

Engr. Adeolu Felix Ogundare began his Engineering career at the Federal Polytechnic, Akure, which later become the Federal University of Technology Akure (later Ado-Ekiti) where he obtained his Ordinary National Diploma (OND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) Certificates in Electrical/Electronic Engineering in 1982 and 1985 respectively. His specialization is in the field of Power and Machines. He did his mandatory one-year National Youth Service (NYSC) at ACI Consultants, Kaduna from 1985-1986 during which he was actively involved in the design and supervision of rural electrification projects.

He later attended Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife for his Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering with specialization in Controls and Telecommunications in 1995.

He attended numerous training courses and seminars both in Nigeria and abroad spanning the fields of Engineering, Information Technology, Human Resources, Industrial Relations and Management, Emergency Response and Management, Health, Safety and Environment Management and Project Implementation and Management amongst others.

He was an accomplished Power Systems Engineer, Oil and Gas Industry Practitioner and an Industrial Relations Management Consultant.

Professional Accolades
Engineer Adeolu Ogundare began his career journey as an Assistant Production Manager and later the Ag. Production Engineer at Elderson (Nigeria) Limited (makers of Time-Cola beverages) at Ayede-Ogbese, Akure from 1986 -1988, right after his National Service. He garnered over 30 years of cognate experience in various aspects of the Oil and Gas Industry, and he rose to the position of a Supervisor at Chevron Nigeria Limited, an Oil and Gas multinational company.

Engr. Adeolu Ogundare was a registered engineer at the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) and had membership of the following Professional Bodies and Associations:

  • The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE),
  • The Nigerian Institution of Electrical and Electronics Engineer (NIEEE),
  • The Nigerian Institution of Costs and Appraisers (NICA)
  • The International Facilities Management Association (IFMA)

Engineer Ogundare had served the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) in various capacities at the National, Divisional and Branch levels over a period of 20 years. He was the former Chairman of the Welfare Committee, a council committee of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE). He had at different times also served as a member of the Technical and Publications Committee, Appointment and Promotions Board, and Disciplinary Committee at the National Level of NSE. At the Branch level, he had also served variously as Publicity Secretary, Assistant General Secretary, Treasurer, General Secretary, Executive Committee Member, Co-Opted Member, Vice Chairman and Chairman of The Nigerian Society of Engineers, Ikeja Branch, among several other roles and services.

In recognition of Engineer Ogundare’s contributions to the engineering practice and training, he was elected into the Fellowship of The Nigerian Society of Engineers in December 2014 and Fellowship of The Nigerian Institution of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (NIEEE) in October 2015 during the inaugural fellowship conferment by the institution.

In February 2020, he attended the Senior Executive Course 42 at National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru and was awarded Member of the National Institute (mni) on December 12, 2020.

Engr. Ogundare (FNIEEE, FNSE, MNI) was a certified Train-the-Trainer, who was passionate and valued the training and mentoring of young and upcoming Engineers. He was a resourceful person and was often sought after for his analytical skills and technical competences. His professional core values were excellence, productivity, value addition, quality assurance and total integrity.

Spiritual Life
Adeolu Ogundare was born into a Christian family, an Anglican by birth. He was baptized with the name Felix as an infant and got confirmed as a child by the Lord Bishop of Ekiti Diocese, Anglican Communion. He began his deep spiritual journey during one of the Nigerian Fellowship of Evangelical Students’ (NIFES) crusades. It was there that he had a life-changing encounter with God on April 21, 1981.

He became a member of Gospel Faith Mission International (GOFAMINT) in 1987 at the persuasion of his Ghanian friend, Bro David, who was a member at Adegbola Assembly, Akure. He culminated his call to ministry as a Deacon and later rose to the position of an Elder at GOFAMINT, Aboru Assembly in 1992. He served variously as a Sunday School Secretary, Sunday School Teacher, Assistant Superintendent and General Superintendent in the Sunday School Department. He continued his spiritual progression from an Elder to being appointed as the Resident Pastor, Idimu District Headquarters Church, Assistant District Pastor (ADP) in Idimu District of GOFAMINT Region 8 and Pastor-in-charge of Rehoboth Assembly, Idimu until his appointment and installation as the District Pastor, Idimu District of Gofamint from 7th February 2021 until he breathe his last.

He participated in and facilitated numerous Christian Leadership trainings, workshops, and seminars. In addition, he attended LIFE Theological Seminary, Ikorodu for Pastoral Studies.
