This is to inform you that the Council of the Nigerian Society Engineers at its meeting of Thursday, September 16, 2021, took resolutions on some matters of urgent importance to members. Amongst such matters was the re-determination of the venue and date of the 2021 Engineering
Conference, Exhibition and Annual General Meeting.
Recall that the 2021 Conference, tagged “Coal City 2021”, was scheduled to hold in Enugu, capital city of Enugu State between the 22nd and 26th of November, 2021. However, citing the seeming unabating security threats to lives and property in some States of the South-East region of Nigeria, and the concerns expressed by members in that regard, the Council resolved that the 2021 Conference/AGM will now hold as follows:
1. Modified Theme: EXPANSION OF THE ENERGY MIX FOR
NATIONAL ECONOMIC GROWTH
2. New Venue: International Conference Centre, Abuja.
3. New Date: December 6 – 10, 2021
Please be reassured that the Council prioritises the security and safety of the lives of its members and this decision was taken in the best interest of members. However, we apologise for the inconveniences that this change may have occasioned.
Members are also implored to note that despite this development,
registration procedures will continue as already commenced. A new
conference flyer reflecting the changes is being circulated for proper guidance.
