The leadership of Nigerian Insitutution of mechanical ENgneers comprising all former chairmen of NIMechE LAgos Chairmen paid a condolence visit to the incumbent Chairman, Engr. Dr. Uche Obiajulu, who lost her mother, Ezinne Abihail Okenwa Obiajulu recently.
The delegation led by the first National chairman of NIMEchE Engr (Cheif) Akintunde zedomi also had in attendance another former national chairman of of NIMechE Engr Ayo Fanomokun, Engr Amos and Engr Dr Jubril Adeyemo, Engr Funmilade Akingbagbohun all former Chairmen of the Chapter and Isqil Najim.
The delegation arrived at the home of the chairman to a warm reception of the family. They expressed their sympathy and prayed for the departed.
Late Ochiora Umunwanyi, Nee Okwukwe, Ezinne Abigail Okenwa Obiajulu, the demised mother of the current Chairman of Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Division of Nigerian Society of Engineers Lagos chapter who was buried on the 15th April 2021 at Unubi town Nnewi South LGA of Anambra was born in 1931 into the family of Umeohiajiaku of Umuogidi, Umuuruabalu kindred of Akwuchukwu village, Unubi Town in Nnewi South local Government of Anambra State and baptized in 1950.
Her father was late Umeohajiaku, a prominent farmer and the mother was late madam Udiheoma Ohajiaku Nee Akunne who was the famous entrepreneur of her time who owned a palm produce factory in Afor Unubi in the 60s. She employed many workers and trained many as apprentices in her plant and that was how Abigail who was her last born after helping her mother in her factory for some time, established a bakery, the first in the history of Unubi town. That was how she became the first person to own a bakery in the town.
Abigail was as kind as her mother and when she became rich through her bakery and Akara business, she took many kids into her mother’s house and trained some as Nurse in Nursing Schools and some as bakers and others traders. She was philanthropic and a unique mother who had raised so many women and men born of other parents.
Throughout her life, she continued being an active business and religious woman doing well till death. The kids gave her one of the best love and care till her death as she made q solid unified family under her watch. .
Abigail was Chairlady of Unubi Women Abroad for over 10years. She was Chairlady of Ebenezer Anglican Church Women Association (Home and Abroad) for over 5 years. She started and also chaired the women meeting of St. Andrews Anglican Church when it was made a Parish after it was carved out of Ebenezer Anglican Church Unubi. Abigail was a member of Evangelical Fellowship of Anglican Church (EFAC) since 1980 till her death on February 2021.
Abigail was elected as 1st Vice Chairlady of Unubi Development Union, Women Wing. The present Afor Modern Market was constructed during their regime. Abigail won several awards too numerous to remember.

- Mr. Shedrack Ogochukwu Obiajulu.
May her generous and gentle soul rest in peace and be in heaven with our Lord Jesus till we meet to part no more. Amen
