Agege Pen Cinema Bridge ready for commissioning Saturday -Sanwo-Olu

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Tuesday gave an assurance for the commissioning of the Agege Pen/Cinema Bridge on Saturday, 20th February, 2021.

The construction of the bridge commenced by the immediate past governor of the State, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode but the Sanwo-Olu administration has ensured its completion.

The overpass ascends from Oba Ogunji Road and drops at Oke Koto axis of Agege. The bridge also opens to the old Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway through Abule Egba.

While speaking at the ongoing 2021 Ehingbeti Lagos Economic Summit, holding at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, the Governor said the construction of the bridge is one of numerous results of the past Eghingbeti summit and a reflection of the public private partnership of the state government.

Sanwo-Olu, in company of his Deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, and members of the State’s cabinet, had paid unscheduled inspection of the project site in December, 2020.

The Governor was joined in a walk-through on the 1.7 kilometre-long bridge by a multitude of ecstatic residents, who expressed their appreciation on pace of work on the bridge.

Speaking to reporters during the tour of the project site, Sanwo-Olu expressed satisfaction on the quality of work done, disclosing that the bridge would be fully opened for public use February.

When opened for use, it will bring an end to the discomfort currently being experienced by motorists plying Agege-Abule Egba routes.
