A delight and great day as the Nigerian Society of Engineers, NSE Houston, the first Branch to be inaugurated outside Nigeria, enters its next leadership phase as it successfully elected new set of executive in line with NSE statute.
The Branch which was inaugurated as part of the NSE at 60 celebration over two years ago was piloted by the pioneer chairman Engr Fisayo Delano whose tenure laid foundation for the Branch. The election resulted in the emergence of Engr Olusegun Jebutu as its New Chairman. The following are the other elected members of the branch.

Engr. Segun Jebutu (MNSE, MBA) is the Integrated formation evaluation manager, Gulf of Mexico region, Baker Hughes. He has 32 years of industry experience. Started his career with Gearhart, held management positions with Halliburton, and worked in several countries including, United Kingdom, Angola, Nigeria, and United States of America. Segun attended Igbobi College, Yaba. He holds a B.Sc. Physics, and M.Sc. Petroleum Engineering, University of Ibadan, and an MBA Texas A&M Mays Business School. He has authored patents on NMR technology and co-authored over 40 publications. An SPE Distinguished lecturer. A member of the SPE, SPWLA, NSE. He is married with three children.
Jebutu’s tenure promises to leverage on the engineering opportunities exposed by the Pandemic to bring out the best in Nigerian engineering. He observed that the emerging areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Biotechnology, Cloud, Automation, Energy transition, are all reshaping the global society as we knew it. And that the future growth will depend on our willingness to embrace new experiences, as we continue to evolve, and blaze the trail of new ways of doing things.
In the light of this, Engr Jebutu agenda is built around positioning members for the opportunities through technical activities, knowledge development and broadening the social engagement while also promoting the physical and mental health of members.
Houston Branch of NSE was inaugurated in 2018 by Engr Adekunle Mokuolu administration along with London Branch. the Branch has since been building capacities for members while also making plans to develop knowledge sharing networks with Nigeria’s engineers at home. It is expected that with engineers abroad coming together, they can use their exposure to international knowledge economy into leveraging on Local content development at home.
