NSE Minna Branch holds election, returns Eterigho, First female chairman, others

Th Minna branch of the Nigeria Society of Engineers (NSE) has held its election, returning its first female chairman, Engineer Elizabeth Jumoke Eterigho for her second tenure in office.

The election was conducted during the NSE 2020 Conference and Annual General Meeting of the Minna branch. She will run the affairs of the Branch for another one year.

Other elected officials include the Vice Chairman, Engineer Muhammadu Masin Muhammadu, Engineer Mohammed Liman Yerima as Secretary, Engineer Abubakar Danjuma as Financial Secretary, Engineer Abubakar Sadiq as Technical Secretary and Engineer Hadiza Danyaya as the Financial Secretary.

Others are Engineer Solomon Ibrahim, Publicity Secretary, Engineer Omotoso Oladipo, Assistant Technical Secretary and Engineer Mohammed Ndaliman as Ex-official I and Engineer Hauwa Gimba as Ex-official II.

Engr. Dr. Eterigho Elizabeth , Had her first and second degrees in Chemical Engineering. She also obtained a second degree in Industrial/Production Engineering before proceeding to the United Kingdom where she obtained a doctorate degree (Ph.D) from Newcastle University.

She started her lecturing career in Chemical Engineering Department, Federal University of Technology Minna. She is a reviewer to several Journals and to her credit has published several papers from her research work in both local and International Journals. She has several skills apart from lecturing such as Organisational skills, Managerial skills, Computer and analytical skills, Entrepreneurial and Administrative skills. Her areas of specialization in addition to Chemical Engineering include: Industrial and Environmental Engineering, Catalysis and Renewable Energy.

She is a COREN registered Engineer, a member of several professional bodies such as Nigerian Society of Engineers, Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers, Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria, Nigerian Iinstitution of Procurement Engineers, and host of others

A recipient of different awards, both National and International. She is an advocate of Girl Child Education. She has served and still serving in various positions in NSE, APWEN, ZAN, NSChE, and ASUU.. She had served as Chairperson APWEN Minna chapter, and currently is the Vice president of APWEN National. She is happily married and blessed with children.
