    The workshop manufactures streetlight poles, carries out major overhauls of engines, transmission and vehicles used on road projects, refrigerators and electric generators used by Kano State Government. There were four hundred people working under me consisting of engineers, technologists, technicians skilled and unskilled labourers.

    Asst. Chief Engineer, Deputy Chief Engineer and later Chief Engineer designated Chief Projects Co-ordinator in the Ministry of Rural and Community Development, Kano. The Engineering Division was responsible for the construction and maintenance of feeder roads in the State to link Agriculture produce areas to their main markets, provision of pipe borne water to communities with population of between 2,000 and 5,000 people and establishing model villages to group scattered hamlets all over the state by direct labour. The Division had three bore hole drilling rigs and six road construction teams. There were two thousand people including engineers, surveyors, geologists, town planners, technologists, technicians, skilled and unskilled labourers all working under me. I was co-ordinating the functions of the division, which included planning, design, appraisal and implementation of all projects and their subsequent maintenance.

Responsible for the operation of the four zonal workshops in Gumel, Birnin Kudu, Rano and Dambatta and PMU workshop in Kano as well as setting up a central specialised workshop in Kano to carry out overhauls of sub-assemblies and fabrication of units and parts of construction machinery, Fadama development and rural water supplies.

    Deputy Managing Director, National Trucks Manufacturers Ltd. NTM Kano. Assisting the Managing Director on the day-to-day administration of the plant. Personally responsible for local content development as well as monitoring the implementation of understudy Programme with the ultimate aim of nationalising the personnel. Acted as Managing Director from 3rd August 1985 to 9th January 1986 and from 25th February to 15th May 1986 in the absence of the incumbent.
