ABU Student transformed his emergency ventilator idea into a portable E-vent automatic ventilator

A student of Ahmadu Bello University, Usman Dalhatu who went viral for producing a ventilator has transformed his emergency ventilator idea into a portable E-vent automatic ventilator.

Usman earlier today released photos of the upgrade which is a special ultra-modern portable E-vent automatic ventilator named respire-19.

The 200 level student of mechanical engineering, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria who hails from Gombe is obviously working round the clock to see that coronavirus is kicked out of Nigeria.

Recall that the Usman Dalhatu became a social media sensation when he partnered with other innovators to build a locally made ventilator that was presented to Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe state.

Dr. Yunusa Muhammad Garba of the Human Anatomy Department, Gombe State University; Aliyu Hassan, a graduate of Mechatronics Engineering and Usman Dalhatu, a 200 level student of mechanical engineering, ABU Zaria, all partnered to produce a locally made ventilator.

While receiving the trio, the governor of Gombe state, Yahaya Inuwa, praised them and said he would assist them to get a patent for the work.

The governor also said that the secretary to the state government and the commissioner of science, technology, and innovation will both work with the presidential task force on COVID-19 to make the young engineers known.

Muhammad also spoke about how the state is putting together a plan to showcase innovators like them from Gombe to the world.

The reception the engineers had was made known in a statement by Ismalla Uba Misilli, the senior special assistant on media and publicity to the governor.
