Engr. Abdulrasaq Jimoh was born into the family of Alhaji Mohammed Akande Jimoh and Hajia Saratu Ode Jimoh some decades ago in Ile Imam, Ayetoro, Oko-Erin Ward, Mogaji-Geri Constituency of Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State. He attended ZEB Primary School, Odota in the then Asa Local Government Area, now in Ilorin West Local Government Area. Owing to his outstanding performance at the Primary Schools Common Entrance Examination, he was given scholarship for his secondary school education through Students Exchange Program to Unity Boys’ College (Government Secondary Grammar School) Karaye, Kano State.

Engr. Abdulrasaq Jimoh’s foray into the Engineering profession commenced at Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin from where he obtained the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering in 1996. He immediately proceeded to the University of Ilorin where he graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering in 2002.

Unrelenting in his quest for further studies, he later bagged a Masters Degree in Electrical Power System Engineering from the University of Lagos in 2010. To enhance his professional competence, he has attended several capacity building courses, seminars, conferences etc both in Nigeria and overseas.

The multi-skilled Power System Engineer joined the service of National Electric Power Authority as a System Operator in 2004 and workedin the Rural Electrification Department of defunct Power Holding Company of Nigeria, South West Zone, Marina, Lagos and Rural Electrification Agency of Nigeria, South West Zone, Osogbo.

He has served as Ag. Technical Manager of Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company, Osogbo Business Unit from 2015 to 2016, and currently a Business Hub Technical Manager, Molete Business Unit, Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company, Ibadan,proffering solutions to energy and engineering challenges through innovation, maintenance, project management, planning, designing,energy marketing and auditing,meter tampering detection, energy audit and load management as well as audit and in-progress inspection of outsourced projects. He is deeply involved in the research of Power Distribution Improvement plans, National Load Demand Studies and Consultancy Services in Energy Management,Environmental and Social Impact Assessment and Environmental & Social Management Plant (ESIA and ESMP) studies for both green and brown field line and substation project, Line Route Verification (LRV) for green project and preparation of Resettlement Action Plan (RAP) for both green field and brown field.

Engr. Jimoh is a COREN Registered Engineer, Member ofThe Nigeria Society of Engineers (NSE), Member of Nigeria Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (NIEEE) amongst other notable professional bodies.

He is NSE Committee Member of Engineering Indices & Infrastructure Score Card Committee (2018-2019). He has served asAssistant General Secretary(2015-2017) – NSE, Ibadan Branch; Membership Secretary(2016-2018) –NIEEE, Ibadan Chapter;Technical Secretaryof NIEEEIbadan Chapter (2018); Deputy Chairman of Nigerian Institution of Power Engineers,Oyo StateChapter (2018);Vice Chairman of NSE, Oluyole Branch (2018-2019). He has remained a dependable mentor to several Engineering students and graduates across Nigeria. Engr. Abdulrasaq Jimoh was conferred a Fellow of Nigerian Society of Engineers on Wednesday, June 26, 2019.

An erudite scholar, Engr. Abdulrasaq Jimohhas written several technical papers presented at various notable Science and Engineering fora.

He is married to Engr. Mrs. Bilikisu Adeola Jimoh, a Power System Protection Engineer and immediate past chairperson of the Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria (APWEN), Kwara State Chapter and the union is blessed with children.
