
Profile Of Engineer Francis Ogugua Oguamanam
Engr. Francis Ogugua Oguamanam was born in Lagos where he attended primary, secondary and university educations. He graduated Bsc (Honours) in Civil Engineering in 1976 and later obtained a certificate in marine structures from the Delft University in Netherlands in 1981. He had worked in several consulting engineering firms including Messrs Ove Arup & Partners specializing in highways, roads and bridges. In 1985, he joined the services of the Lagos State government as an Assistant Chief Engineer and retired in 2001 as Director Project Management.
He became a chartered engineer with the British Institution of Civil Engineers in 1981. ( MICE, Ceng ) and got registered with the Council of Registered Engineers of Nigeria (COREN) in 1983. He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers. He was a Past Chairman, Nigerian Society of Engineers Ikeja ( 1999 -2001 ) , Past President, Rotary Club of Ikeja South, and Past Chairman, Parents’/Teachers Association, Federal Government Girls’ College, Owerri
Engr Oguamanam has been active in Church affairs, particularly, the CMO ( Catholic Men Organisation ) in his native home where he has been honoured with several awards by both the CWO ( Catholic Women Organisation ) and the CMO. Here in Lagos, he has been very supportive by contributing financially and morally to the physical development and growth of the Church and the CMO thus representing them at various functions and activities within and outside the Parish.
He is married and has been blessed with 5 children and many grandchildren.
