NIEEE Ibadan Chapter celebrates Abdurasaq Jimoh, bags NSE Fellowship


The Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (NIEEE), Ibadan Chapter celebrates with Engr. Abdurasaq Jimoh as he was conferred and inducted into the prestigious fellowship of the Nigerian Society of Engineers.

Jimoh, FNSE, MNIEEE, MIEEE was one of the forty (40) Engineers conferred with the prestigious status of fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) at the 11th Fellowship Conferment Lecture and Ceremony held in Abuja.

While conferring the honour on him, the NSE President Engr. Adekunle Mokuolu, FNSE pointed out that Fellows of the body are distinguished Nigerians who have excelled in the field of Engineering.

He added that the Fellowship of the NSE is one of the highest award to be given to any carrier Engineer not only in Nigeria but throughout the world.


Expressing his heartfelt congratulations to him as he bagged the fellowship honour, the NIEEE Chairman, Engr. Silvanus Omajuwa Ajuyah, MNSE, MNIEEE noted that Jimoh is an hardworking and dedicated man.

According to Ajuyah, Jimoh is currently NIEEE, Ibadan chapter Technical Secretary and prior to that, he was formerly the chapter membership Secretary.

“On behalf of the entire executives and members of The Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (NIEEE) Ibadan Chapter, I congratulate our industrious Technical Secretary, Engr. Abdulrasaq Jimoh, FNSE, MNIEEE MIEEE on his conferment as Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers.

“You have clearly define that ‘everyone wants success’, but it only follows those who make a true approach to get it.

He has remained a dependable mentor to several Engineering students and graduates across Nigeria”, Ajuyah stated.

Engr. Jimoh is a COREN Registered Engineer and currently a Business Hub Technical Manager, Molete Business Unit, Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company.

The multi-skilled Power System Engineer joined the service of National Electric Power Authority as a System Operator in 2004 and worked in the Rural Electrification Department of defunct the Power Holding Company of Nigeria, Lagos and Rural Electrification Agency of Nigeria, South West Zone, Osogbo.

He proffers solutions to energy and engineering challenges through innovation, maintenance, project management, planning, designing & construction of injection and distribution substations, energy marketing and auditing, meter tampering detection, energy audit and load management as well as audit and in-progress inspection of outsourced projects.

He is deeply involved in the research of National Load Demand Studies and Consultancy Services in Energy Management, Environmental and Social Impact Assessment and Environmental & Social Management Plant (ESIA and ESMP) studies for both green and brown field line and substation project, Line Route Verification (LRV) for green project and preparation of Resettlement Action Plan (RAP) for both green field and brown field where there is encroachment along the existing right of way (ROW).

He has served as Member, Engineering Indices & Infrastructure Score Card Committee (2018) – NSE Headquarters, Abuja; Assistant General Secretary (2015-2017) – NSE, Ibadan Branch; Membership Secretary (2016-2018) – NIEEE, Ibadan Chapter.

Jimoh is currently the Technical Secretary Ibadan Chapter; Deputy Chairman of Nigerian Institution of Power Engineers, Oyo State Chapter and incumbent Vice Chairman of NSE, Oluyole Branch.

As an erudite scholar, Jimoh has written several technical papers presented at various notable Science and Engineering fora. He recently co-authored the article: ‘Characterization and Treatment of Spent Deposited Sludge of Transformer Oil (DSTO) by Acid Leaching and Solvent Extraction’ published in Mineral Processing and Extractive Metallurgy, Volume 127 Issue 4, 2018.
