The Nigerian Society of Engineers Awka Branch was represented by her IPC Engr Edmond Nkalu and the incumbent Publicity Secretary Engr Fimbar. The guest joined Aguata Branch in their June 2019 general meeting held at FedPoly Oko.
The chairman of the branch, Engr Olufemi Ojo welcomed then in a grand style and inform them that we are already on the Top Gear on membership drive, almost every Engineer in FedPoly Oko is already aware of the existence of the Branch and F. C. E. (T) Umunze as well, we have also booked courtesy call with our colleagues in Local Government and other places all geared towards increase our membership strength. They where also made to understand that apart from our inauguration which we are gradually preparing, that we have a program which will be coming up soon precisely within July 2019 which is orientation program for students of Electrical/Electronics Department FedPoly Oko inconjunction with Electrical/Electronics department FedPoly Oko and lots more.
Engr Edmond Nkalu in reaction, thanked the chairman and members on their effort so far in making the new branch a great one. He encouraged us to put more effort on membership drive and also spread our tentacles to senior colleagues around, who are the major stakeholders. He concluded his advice on by telling us that if we can get so many stakeholders on our side and place them on the known, that it will make a lot of things easy for the branch. On inauguration, he was ofnthe opinion that we should strive and make sure that we are ready before the next six months, so that the present National President will inaugurate us before leaving office. In conclusion he pray the good God to help us to grow faster and from strength to strength.
Engr Fimbar who accompanied Nkalu reminded us of being gender sensitive, he encouraged us to look for female Engineers in order to balance the gender.
Engr. Kane Onwughalu in a vote of thanks, thank them for coming and words of advice and encouragement they gave us and finally prayed that God will lead them safely back to their base.
