The NIMechE National Chairman, Engr Dr. Ejilah Robinson, on Friday, 28th April 2018, took delivery of over 500 books and 1000 copies of journals and conference proceedings, in a wide range of mechanical engineering expertise from Engr, Dr Mohammed Moore Ojapa in Abuja.

This delivery of invaluable learning and research materials was a response to an earlier request made on behalf of the Institution to the donor for science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) resource materials, and mechanical engineering books and journals, for the intellectual and professional development of engineers, researchers, our upcoming science and engineering students, and also promote the culture of reading and scientific inquiry among curious Nigerian public…

The donor averred that his gesture will enable the Institution gain professional mileage, and promote knowledge and skills development for global competitiveness.

Engr. Dr. Ojapa is a vibrant academic, mechanical engineer and internal combustion expert, with several years of academic and research experience in the University of Port Harcourt, and the Brunei University, Uxbridge, London – a University, he earned a PhD’s degree in Advance Power trains and Fuels, with a research interest skewed in favour of developing next generation engines, noxious emissions mitigation and high performing fuel technology. He also has a penchant for motor sport programme, formula student programme and formula hybrid teams.

He has worked extensively in research team(s), with the likes of the world’s renown Prof. Hua Zhao, – who is distinguished for his fundamental and applied research into novel engine combustion concepts of hybrid engine/vehicle technologies and advanced laser diagnostics.

Dr Ojapa is a grant awardee, and the Coordinator of Higher Education Partnership in Sub-Saharan Africa (HEPSSA), – a project funded by the Royal Academy of Engineering, UK, Anglo American Group Foundation, and Global Challenge Research Fund.

NIMechE is indeed grateful to the donor for this kind and ennobling gesture. We wish to note that making a donation of this nature is no doubt an ultimate sign of his professional solidarity with NIMechE.

Distinguished Mechanical Engineers and friends do kindly join me to utter a hearty word gratitude to the donor as we work towards future professional partnership with HEPSSA projects and programmes.
