As part of fire prevention strategy Anambra State Fire Service engaged in fire Sensitization lecture at Bubedorf Grammar School Adazi-Nnukwu.
This was on invitation by the Manager of the School, Rev. Fr. Theodore Ekwem to the Anambra State Fire Service to come and sensitize the students and the teachers of the School.
Engr. Martin Agbili, the officer incharge of Fire Prevention, Training & Sensitization in Anambra State Fire Service who is also the Chairman of the Nigerian Institution of Safety Engineers, Awka Chapter, took the students and teachers on a lecture on BASIC FIRE SAFETY TECHNIQUES. The lecture will assist the students to be fire safety conscious especially now that we are entering dry season.
This was the first time the School is having such educative safety lecture outside the school curriculum. The students where so happy that they wished that the lecture will continue throughout the day. Expressing their gratitude the teachers and students requested for more of that lecture.
On appreciating Fire Service, the Manager of the School promised to join hands with Fire Service to promote Safety in the School. Engr. Martin Agbili in return said that Anambra State Fire will in collaboration with the Nigerian Institution of Safety Engineers, Awka Chapter, introduce and install safety clubs in Schools which the will start very soon. Many students on hearing this volunteered immediately to join the safety club whenever it will come to the School.
Finally, Engr. Martin, used the opportunity to call on public, Schools, Churches, Markets, Clubs, Factories and Companies to emulate Bubedorf Grammar School and open their doors and welcome Anambra State Fire Service and safety professionals whenever the come knocking.
