NSE Lagos Donates Household Items To Bethsalda Home

The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Lagos State branch, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR) initiative, has donated household materials to Bethsalda Home for the Blind in Surulere, Lagos.

The Chairman, NSE, Lagos branch, Engr. Musliudeen Agoro, who led other executives of the society to Bethsalda Home, said, this kind gesture is one of ways of impacting the society where NSE operates.

While thanking the management and staff of the home for the wonderful job and immense contribution to keeping alive hope and aspirations of the physically challenged member of the community, he said, the Society choose the Home to show them love, care and encourage them that despite their challenge, they can attain any height in life through focus and dedication.

While addressing the blind, he said: ‘Those who wish to further their education can study engineering and become engineers,’ promising that his association is planning a mentorship programme, which if they participate, could allow the people of the Home show case their craft work and other activities, thereby, exposing them to potential sponsors or investors.

The NSE Secretary General, Lagos branch, Engr. Adesina Osinloye, encouraged the 126 students of the home to be diligent and steadfast as great future awaits them, describing them as the Bethsalda Home for the Blessed.

The Director of the Home, Chioma Ohakwe, who received the items on behalf of the home thanked the management of NSE for their visit and kind gesture. Bethsalda Home for the Blind, she said, has been in existence for 14 years.

“We currently have 126 students in the home in various classes. So far, we have 36 graduants studying in various federal universities, such as; UNN Nnsuka, UI, UNILAG, among others. We are grateful to God for moving us from strength to strength, and I also believe that with this kind of support, we can achieve more,” she pointed out.
